Bayan Oilfield Achieves Dual Growth in Output and Efficiency through Targeted Production and Stable Output Efforts
As of May 25, Bayan Oilfield in North China Oilfield has achieved a cumulative crude oil production of nearly 700,000 tons this year, with a daily output reaching 4,800 tons—an increase of 20% year-on-year. This accounts for 30% of the total daily crude oil production of North China Oilfield, and the SEC reserve-to-production ratio remains stable and favorable, achieving simultaneous growth in both volume and efficiency.
Since the beginning of this year, Bayan Oilfield has adhered to the principle of "identifying reserves with production potential, building productive capacity, and securing profitable output." Relying on integrated evaluation involving exploration and development, geological engineering, and technical economics, the field has prioritized high-return blocks, focusing on efficient reservoir utilization and optimization of drilling and completion methods. It has concentrated efforts on accelerating and improving productivity construction technologies to ensure new production capacity achieves high compliance rates, rapid output realization, low investment, and high returns. Engineering and technical personnel have accelerated breakthroughs in wellbore technology, developing anti-circulation cement slurries and applying high-toughness corrosion-resistant cement slurries to create sealing barriers, while optimizing reservoir protection techniques. Both wellbore quality and cementing quality have maintained ** pass rates. Meanwhile, drilling technology upgrades have been strengthened, including the promotion of real-time drilling expansion techniques, optimized drilling fluid performance, and selected drill string combinations. The continuous advancement of factory-style drilling in large well clusters has effectively shortened average drilling cycles. To date, 13 new wells have been completed, with construction progress up 30% compared to the same period last year, and newly completed production capacity reaching 90,000 tons.To enhance single-well production, Bayan Oilfield's development team has precisely adjusted water injection parameters, implementing zonal pressure-controlled water injection and acidizing to boost injection rates and reasonably replenish formation energy. In the Xinghua-1 block, based on a refined layered development approach using “three vertical wells plus two horizontal wells” in a reverse nine-spot pattern, targeted water management measures such as directional water flooding and reduced injection intensity have been applied, increasing daily oil production to 2,800 tons. Through detailed reservoir characterization in the Jilantai area, the traditional water injection method in the Jihua-1 block has been upgraded to a combination of “vertical and horizontal wells with volumetric fracturing plus bottom-area water injection,” with 80 producing wells already showing positive water injection effects. Development teams have also enhanced operation and maintenance of produced water treatment systems, implementing pulse resonance scale removal and filter media replacement, maintaining high levels of efficiency in the water injection system and meeting stringent standards for effluent and wellhead water quality.
Faced with unique reservoir geology, Bayan Oilfield’s development team has actively explored strategies for sustained production and recovery enhancement, innovating customized reservoir development models and establishing diversified displacement technologies to support large-scale, economically viable resource development. The Jihua-2 block, characterized by conglomerate reservoirs with steep dip angles and strong water sensitivity, has adopted a combined approach of top and mid-zone point-source air injection (reduced oxygen) along with edge and bottom water injection, achieving over 400 tons per day in oil production. The company is steadily advancing its CCUS pilot project, establishing three pilot zones tailored to different oil-bearing layers, reservoir types, and well spacing patterns. To date, 240,000 tons of CO₂ have been injected, resulting in 180,000 tons of cumulative oil production, laying the foundation for a proven CCUS-enhanced oil recovery technology.
