Lanzhou Petrochemical Company has successfully solved the problem of processing high-sulfur crude oil by means of precise scientific "formulas", providing support for improving resource processing efficiency and optimizing raw material structure. As of March 3rd, the company has processed a total of 318,000 tons of Kazakh and Bayan crude oil this year, achieving clean and efficient conversion of low-quality crude oil and laying a solid foundation for the entire year's production.
In February, Kazakh crude oil accounted for 42% of the crude oil entering Lanzhou Petrochemical. However, Kazakh crude oil has a high sulfur content and strong corrosiveness, which increases the risk of equipment corrosion and poses new challenges to processing and blending. In response to these difficulties, Lanzhou Petrochemical tackled the problem through technological innovation and "tailored" a scientific "formula". The company focused on the 5.5 million tons/year atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit, optimizing the process formula and operating parameters, strengthening corrosion monitoring in key areas, and dynamically adjusting protective measures to ensure long-term stable operation of the unit and achieve the goal of "processing, stabilizing, and producing well" from low-quality crude oil.
During the crude oil blending and mixing stage, after multiple rounds of calculations and simulation verifications, Lanzhou Petrochemical determined the optimal blending ratio and process for Qinghai crude oil and Kazakh crude oil. All departments worked together to establish a full-process responsibility traceability mechanism, strictly controlling quality. Currently, the mixed raw material indicators meet the requirements of downstream processing, and the refining units are operating at high capacity. The qualification rate of major products is **, achieving a win-win situation of clean production and efficiency. This also provides replicable experience for the processing of similar crude oil in the industry.
