The cumulative gas production of a single well in Fuling Shale Gas Field is 400 million cubic meters, setting a domestic record
As of December 11th, the cumulative production of Jiaoye 6-2HF well in Fuling shale gas field of Jianghan Oilfield has exceeded 400 million cubic meters since it was put into operation, setting a record for the highest cumulative production of shale gas in a single well in China. This well is located in Fuling District, Chongqing. It was put into operation on September 29, 2013 and has been stable for over 10 years, becoming a new benchmark for shale gas development in China.
Shale gas is a type of unconventional natural gas. Compared with
conventional natural gas, shale reservoirs have lower permeability,
greater difficulty in extraction, and faster decline in production. How
to achieve long-term stable and efficient development of shale gas is a
world-class challenge. In the absence of any experience to learn from,
Sinopec has established a technical research team rooted in the field,
dynamically selecting production plans for different stages of gas
wells, forming a dynamic and reasonable production technology throughout
the entire life cycle, and achieving stable and high production of
wells such as Jiaoye 6-2HF. Subsequently, they will promote and apply
their successful experience, significantly increasing the production of
gas wells in the gas field. At present, there are 208 gas wells in the
Fuling shale gas field with a cumulative production of over 100 million
cubic meters, with a cumulative gas production of over 34.3 billion
cubic meters.
